Here’s today’s Bottom Line:
The burn ban remains in place for the time being, at least as of the time of this writing.
No foolin around today… April greets us the same way March left us: Sunny, dry, and with very nice temperatures.
Dry is the key word… I was looking at some statistics, and we’re between 0% and 10% of normal rain since March 15th. Yikes.
That’s not going to change before Easter Sunday afternoon. Unusually strong high pressure over the central Atlantic will keep a southerly flow of warm air pumping over the area. There’s the slightest … just the slightest … chance for a shower or storm Friday and Saturday afternoon. There’s a better chance that you reading this blog will become a multimillionaire this afternoon.
Our next weather system arrives later on Easter Sunday:
Easter sunrise services will have no issues… but the threat for showers and thunderstorms increases throughout the afternoon in an increasingly warm and humid southerly flow. There will be very little atmospheric “cap” in place, so this is a true chance for some much-needed rainfall. It’s too early to tell the nature of the storms Sunday afternoon, whether they be isolated/discrete or more widespread, and whether or not they will be strong to severe…. but we’ll be watching that.
The cold front moves through late Sunday night with a line or two of showers and thunderstorms. The map shown above is the European model for late Sunday night, and the global models are remarkably consistent in this depiction.
Much cooler temps arrive on Monday as highs will only be in the mid to upper 60s. There is NO frost threat.
That’ll do it for today’s blog, I hope yall have a wonderful day!
