An armed robbery suspect was captured after allegedly fleeing Columbus and Robeson deputies Wednesday (today).
The sheriff’s office said patrol deputies and detectives were called to the North Whiteville Dollar General at 4 p.m. after Terrell Gilchrist allegedly held the store up. Investigators developed information that Gilchrist was headed for Robeson County. Deputies issued a BOLO for Gilchrist, and headed for Robeson county.
While they were en route, a press release said Lumberton Police and Robeson deputies located Gilchrist and attempted a traffic stop. Gilchrist fled at a high rate of speed, but was captured a short time later.
Gilchrist was still being processed at this time. This story will be updated as more information becomes available.
