Gators advance on Simmons’ perfect game
HALIFAX—Gauge Simmons pitched a perfect game for East Columbus on Friday against Southeastern Collegiate Prep Academy as the Gators won 15-0. The win for East Columbus (16-6) pits the# 5 seed Gators against #1 seed Fall Lake Academy (18-6) on Tuesday in the third round of the 1-A playoff Tournament on Tuesday. Southeastern Prep Academy concludes its season at 10-4.

Win sends WBHS to Whiteville
DUBLIN—Tyler Lewis pitched 5.2 innings for the win to lead West Bladen past Wake Prep 4-2 in the second round of the 3A playoffs on Friday. Lewis struck out six before JT Hepler came in and struck out the remaining four batters in relief.
Aiden Trinidad was 2-3 at the plate while Hunter Hester had an RBI on and hit as the Knight s move to 18-7 on the year.
The win puts the Knights traveling to Whiteville on Tuesday for a Carolina Conference battle in the third round. Whiteville (16-6) defeated West Bladen both times in their two conference meetings this season.
