Here’s today’s Bottom Line

It was a chilly morning yesterday across the county; we got down to 49 degrees here at the house early Wednesday. It was an absolutely spectacular day.

We’re starting off on the cool side once again this morning but this afternoon will be warmer and just a touch more humid. Highs should be in the mid to upper 80s across the county.

Warm air really starts to push in on Friday as our highs flirt with the 90-degree mark… and then into the lower 90s over the weekend as the high pressure ridge drops southward over the Appalachians.

There may be an isolated thunderstorm chance Sunday afternoon, but a better chance for showers and storms arrives Monday and Monday night as a modest cold front drops across the area from the northwest. This will bring partly sunny skies by Tuesday with slightly cooler temps… but the cool temps probably won’t long as longer-range modeling suggests heat and humidity come roaring to life.

TROPICS: A disturbance in the northern Gulf will be sheared to pieces over the next few days. There is zero chance of this taking on tropical characteristics.
