Here’s today’s Bottom Line

Hydrate… hydrate… hydrate.
Sunscreen… sunscreen… sunscreen.

Those are the rules if you have outdoor plans this weekend as we will experience true summertime conditions with the heat. Fortunately the humidity will be relatively low for today… so low, in fact, that a fire danger statement is in place by the NWS.

If you’re going to the beach, rip current risks are moderate from Carolina Beach northward, including Wrightsville, Topsail, etc. Brunswick and Horry county beaches sport low rip risks. Pack your patience as everyone else will be going to the beach as well.

Sunday will be just as dry and just as hot as today. Humidity starts to creep up by Sunday afternoon, and there’s the oh-so-slight chance for an isolated thunderstorm to pop on the sea-breeze boundary, but not enough to put a graphic in the chart.

An ever-weakening cold front tries to push through the area on Monday evening… bless its heart… and this will be the focus for better shower and storm chances, but that’s not going to amount to a whole lot.

The front lifts back north and dissipates on Tuesday, allowing for a true summertime regime of heat, humidity, sunshine, and the threat for storms each day Tuesday through Friday and beyond.
