Here’s today’s Bottom Line

As mentioned in the “Bottom Line,” sunshine, heat, and isolated afternoon storms will dominate through at least the first half of the week. The “ghost” of a cold front will drop across the area late Tuesday afternoon and any thunderstorms that are along the front appear by the modeling to be dissipating by the time the front gets here. Isolated storms with a gusty wind and lots of lightning possible this afternoon but a little bit more likely tomorrow.

The remnant frontal boundary essentially vanishes by Wednesday but there will still be the chance for afternoon storms given the heat/humidity and the sea-breeze boundary.

Another “ghost front” drops through the ridge by Friday with modeling showing a better chance for thunderstorm activity. I have bumped up the chance to 50% in my forecast for Friday.

Then the high pressure ridge roars back to life for the weekend with temps pushing into the upper 90s… if not over the Misery Mark… by next Sunday into next week.

Tropics remain quiet at this time.
