A man was transported for a mental evaluation after reports that he was standing by an area road with a machete July 18.
Deputies were initially called to the 20000 block of Peacock Road to a disturbance. They made contact with a man fitting the description of an individual walking beside the road with a machete. The man was not carrying the tool at the time deputies found him, the report said.
Deputies recovered the machete after a nearby resident reported that the individual had discarded it. The report noted that the resident advised the man was not aggressive toward him.
The individual was transported by EMS to a hospital for a mental health evaluation. The machete was collected by deputies for safekeeping. No criminal charges were filed.
