Here’s today’s Bottom Line

Well we started off yesterday with a bit of rain but then it turned out to be a fairly nice afternoon. I had 0.45″ measured on my weather station in uptown Whiteville.

Similar conditions are expected today. A mix of sunshine and clouds with the threat for scattered showers and maybe a thunderstorm at any point in time.

The upper low responsible for the unsettled conditions will finally dissipate and give way to strong Bermuda high pressure Friday into early next week. This will result in more isolated thunderstorm activity, mainly relegated to the afternoon and evening hours.

It’s going to become increasingly hot and humid through the weekend and especially the first part of next week. Heat index values will likely be in the “advisory” criteria range Sunday and beyond.

Warmer-than-normal temps are likely to continue throughout next week.
