FAYETTEVILLE—2024 Whiteville High School graduate Amari Best was named to the Pre-Season All-CIAA football team for Fayetteville State in the upcoming 2026 football season.
The red shirt sophomore was a key part of last year’s Bronco squad that finished 6-4 on the year. Best had 41 tackles, 30 solos, and three interceptions as a defensive back in 2025. This year’s Fayetteville State team is picked third in the CIAA Pre-season polls.
While at Whiteville, Best was a three-star athlete, placing All-Conference Honors in football, basketball, and track. He is majoring in sports management and fitness. He also has a unique hobby was is great for being a Bronco — he loves to ride horses.
