WHITEVILLE—Whiteville Recreation Center will be the host to the Smith’s First Annual Stop the Violence Basketball Tournament.
The event is to promote change and set examples of how love is always a better answer than violence, organizers said.
The tournament will begin Wednesday at noon and will be a gathering of positive fellowship and to target the uplifting of the community.
There will be a $50 prize for the 8-10 age group, $100 for the 11-13 group winner, $150 14 to 16 ages, and $200 will go to the 17-19 winner.
