Here’s today’s Bottom Line
The heat wave begins today and lasts into Saturday. Then we’ll have a break but modeling suggests we’ll be back in the furnace next week. Yay.
Heat advisory is in place today for heat index value between 105-110. There will almost certainly be heat advisories posted Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Heat index might be close enough to warrant extreme heat warnings on Thursday.
A weak backdoor cold front tries to push into the high pressure ridge. This will bring increased thunderstorm chances Saturday and Sunday… but the high looks to regain firm control going into next week.
Tropics: Several areas of interest in the Atlantic, but only one will (likely) become anything. Area number one on the chart below will likely become a tropical storm over the next several days…. but model ensembles keep this system safely out to sea. That being said, I will be watching this one carefully.
