West Bladen’s soccer team (5-0-1) is off to one of their greatest starts ever, after they won three matches in three days.
On Monday they defeated West Columbus 8-0 in Dublin. Diego Santos, Andrew Martinez, and Alejandro Sandoval all scored goals for the Knights. On Tuesday, West Bladen made history as they defeated the East Bladen Eagles 3-2. The Eagles had not lost to West Bladen since 2010.
Sandoval punched in two goals for the Knights in the victory. Wednesday’s match resulted in another Knight win on the soccer field. West Bladen downed Union 2-1. Diego Santos scored both goals for the Knights in the victory.
The Knights will travel to Hobbton (4-1) on Monday (Aug. 31).
In Whiteville, the Gators of East Columbus remained unbeaten with a tie of Whiteville 1-1. Noah Jacobson scored for the Gators, who are 2-0-1 on the year. They will host North Duplin (0-1) on Tuesday. Whiteville (1-2-3) will travel to Leland for a match with North Brunswick (4-1).
West Columbus defeated South Columbus 2-1 in soccer Wednesday. The Vikings (1-2) will host Union on Sept. 8. South Columbus (0-7) will go to Elizabethtown for a match with East Bladen on Monday.
