Here’s today’s Bottom Line

On schedule the frontal system I’ve been talking about for several days arrived yesterday with about half an inch of rain in Whiteville. That’s nothing compared to the over 6 inches of rain that fell across portions of Robeson County west of I-95.

Periods of rain and possibly some thunder will be the rule today through tonight. There could be some localized areas of heavy rainfall as well.

The final wave of low pressure pulls away and yanks the cold front well south/east/offshore by Monday afternoon. We’ll be socked in the clouds Monday afternoon but the rain should be done.

High pressure then pushes in for the rest of the work week. Early morning low temps may be deep into the 40s.

TROPICS: No tropical systems at this time… although the NHC is watching the Gulf.
