Although nearly 10,000 voters have already cast ballots in Columbus county, there’s stillroom for more.
The Board of Elections said 9,661 voters took advantage of the county’s early polls. Voters planning to go to the polls today (Tuesday) have until 7:30 p.m. to go to their home precincts. More than 37,000 registered voters are eligible to participate in today’s election.
State data shows that as usual, more Democrats than Republicans cast early ballots, although this year unaffiliated voters closed closely on the Democrats in early polls. Election Day is typically stronger for Republican voters.
