Five people have now been charged in a stolen property and drug ring in Nakina. Skylar Long, Jonathan Cumbee, Teresa Hursey, Linda Gore and Jonathan Dorsch face a variety of felony charges ranging from stolen property to heroin and fentanyl. The stolen property case provided evidence that led to a major narcotics bust.
Drones and search crews tracked down a 15-year-old boy who allegedly kidnapped his girlfriend Tuesday. The youth has been referred to the Dept. of Juvenile Justice on charges of first degree kidnapping, according to the sheriff’s office. The child molester who had a standoff with Bladen County deputies will serve 20 years in prison. Wilton Edwards Jr. age 42, pleaded guilty to statutory rape Monday in Bladen County Superior Court.
