An officer at Columbus Correctional Institution was assaulted this morning by an inmate, according to a prison spokesman. Breaking news Police in Chadbourn are searching for the suspect in a shooting case from Wednesday night. The shooting occurred at the intersection of South Wilkes and Princess Street around 10:16 p.m., Interim Police Chief Ken Elliot said.
