Assault victim assaults medics, report says

A man who called 911 after an alleged assault was charged with injuring the emergency workers trying to help him. 

David Harold Wilson was held under a secured bond on two charges of assaulting emergency personnel, which is a felony. He is alleged to have punched one EMT and pulled another one’s hair while they were attempting to treat him.

The sheriff’s office reported that  a deputy responded to the Holiday Motel on James B. White Highway North in Whiteville to investigate an assault.  .  Whiteville Rescue was on scene. Wilson, who was staying at the Holiday, advised that he was assaulted by an unknown male.  

While the first responders were trying to move Wilson to a stretcher, the report said, he became combative and assaulted EMS Medic Kristin Norris by striking her in the chest with his fist.  He also assaulted EMS Medic Caitlynn King by pulling her hair. 

Wilson was arrested and charged.
