Felon charged in Fair Bluff shooting incident

Fair Bluff Police have captured the man alleged to have fired a number of shots after a dispute Nov. 14.

Shawn Jarmie Murchison, 33, was placed under a secured bond on charges of possession of a firearm by a felon and discharging a firearm in the city limits. He listed addresses of 3223 Union Valley Road and W. Nance Street, Whiteville on jail documents.

Murchison allegedly fired multiple shots after an argument in Fair Bluff. Some of the bullets struck a neighboring property. No one was injured.

 He was previously convicted of assault with a deadly weapon, inflicting serious injury, in 2014. Murchison was sentenced to four years in prison for the assault. He was arrested by Lt. G. Corder of the FBPD.
