Two suspects in the same vehicle were involved in two different incidents and two foot chases  near Chadbourn Sunday.

The sheriff’s office said a deputy was on stationary patrol on Joe Brown Highway just after 3 a.m. when he observed a speeding vehicle.  When the deputy attempted a traffic to stop, the driver accelerated and drive into the town of Chadbourn.

The deputy observed the vehicle stop briefly on Brown Street, where Damion Marquez Moody allegedly jumped from the vehicle and fled on foot. The deputy captured Moody, and confiscated a bag of marijuana. A records check showed Moody was wanted on outstanding warrants from Robeson County.

A short while later, the report said, the suspect vehicle was reported wrecked at Best Road and Brown Highway. Deputies and Highway Patrol troopers responded. Davern Jaquan Inman and three juvenile males were seen running from the scene. They were found in a nearby abandoned house. Inman was arrested for fleeing to elude arrest, and the juveniles were released to their parents.

Inman, 19, is from Lumberton, according to arrest reports. He was charged with resisting an officer, and released on a $5,000 unsecured bond.

Moody gave a Fairmont address on his jail record. He was charged with fleeing to elude arrest, possession of marijuana, and two outstanding warrants from Robeson. His bond was set at $11,000.
