Tabor City Police seal

Police are searching for an armed robber who got away with cash and noodles Saturday in Tabor City.

Tabor City police were called to the Food Lion at Tabor Crossing to investigate a reported armed robbery just after 9 p.m., according to a report. The clerk said a white female entered the store and came to the register with multiple times, but only put one item – a package of noodles – on the conveyor belt.

When the clerk opened the cash register, the report said, the suspect lifted her jacket and displayed a handgun in her waistband. She then told the clerk to empty the register because “she did not want to hurt her.”
The clerk did as instructed, and the woman fled the store on foot.

The suspect is described as a white female wearing a red coat and blue hat or cap.

Responding officers stopped a pickup that was spotted in the area at the time of the robbery, but it was determined the truck’s driver was no involved in the holdup.
