Battered bulldog with no ears center of investigation

A malnourished, injured pit boxer mix with no ears was picked up in near Tabor City Friday afternoon (today).

The dog, currently known by her kennel number, 8514, is undergoing medical care, the sheriff’s office said. 

Columbus Animal Protective Services (APS) is investigating how the dog ended up in that condition.

8514 is around a year old, according to APS investigators. She is a tan and white boxer mix, and was found in the 3000 block of Swamp Fox Highway West around 1:15 p.m. 

In addition to missing her ears, 8514 had a bloody, swollen face and multiple wounds around her head when she was picked up. She was taken to a veterinarian, according to the sheriff’s office.
