Mr. Steven “Stevie” Robert Teleky, Jr. 47, of Tabor City passed on Saturday, August 28, 2021 in McLeod Hospital, Loris, SC. He was born in Whiteville, the son of Steven Robert Teleky, Sr. and Eva Mae Smith Teleky of Whiteville.
Stevie was owner and operator of Teleky Logging, LLC for 11 years where he harvested timber for Edwards Wood Products, Canal Wood and Corbett Timber. He was a member of the first graduating class of South Columbus High School in 1993. He loved hunting, fishing, drag racing boats and spending time with family and friends. If Stevie could be doing anything on his free time, it would be swamp logging and passing time with his crew members.
He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Misty Kay Buffkin Teleky; a daughter, Kayla Teleky Miller, and husband, Matthew Austin Miller of Tabor City; a son, Noah Steven Teleky of Tabor City; a sister, Marie Teleky Peacock and husband, Kyle of Lake Waccamaw; his parents, Steve and Eva Teleky; grandchildren, Trevor Noah Teleky and Everleigh Kate Miller; and a niece, Laney Marie Peacock.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Stephanie Ann Teleky, father-in-law, Buck Watts, maternal grandfather, Oliver Wendell Smith, maternal grandmother, Erma Ruth Smith; paternal grandmother, Sarah Cayton.
Graveside service will be conducted 11:00 am Tuesday, August 31, 2021 by Rev. John Porter and Rev. Wayne Murray at Myrtle Green Cemetery in Tabor City. Serving as pallbearers will be Rocky Durden, Grady Lane, Colby Guyton, Bobby Cribb, Leamon Ikner, Craig Hendrix, Shady Daniels and Neal Norris. Honorary pallbearers will be Ronnie Simmons, Justin Durden, Sean Mullaen, Jeff Guyton, Chandler Gore and Shane Moore.
Visitation will be Tuesday, August 31, 2021 from 9:00 – 10:00 am at Peacock Funeral Home.
