Mr. Freeman Smith 84 of Ash died Sunday October 24, 2021 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center. Born in Brunswick County on July 24, 1937 and was the son of the late Foy and Effie Smith. He was a retired truck driver. Mr. Smith was a U.S. Army veteran. He was preceded in death by his wife Martha Ruth Long Smith.
He is survived by his children, Tracy Freeman Smith (Cindy) of Ash, Peggy Smith (Eric Barwick) of Wilmington, Donna Rose Burris of Ash; grandchildren, Dewayne Kirby (Kim)of Supply, Regina Lowery (Donald) of Tabor City, Samantha Vickers (Jonathan) of Leland, Kaziah Lewis and Olivia Smith of Ash, Zoi Smith of Little River and Cassie Gett of Whiteville and seven Great Grandchildren; two brothers, Carl Smith of Whiteville and Roddie Smith of Calabash; two sisters, Faye Smith Etheridge of Crusoe and May Smith of Ash.
Graveside funeral services will be held Friday October 29, 2021 at three o’clock in the afternoon at the James Azor Smith Cemetery on Longwood Road, Ash.
