It took two officers and a Taser to stop an alleged pizza thief in Tabor City Monday.

Lloydian Lee Little, 42, was turned over to Horry County Police to face charges after the incident. Lee’s address was listed as 3291 Fries Bay Rd., Loris.

Ptl. B. Churchfield of the Tabor City Police reported that he was dispatched to the state line after Lee allegedly stole a pizza in South Carolina, and crossed the line on foot to escape. Churchfield spotted a man meeting the suspect’s description on Hickman Road, and activated his blue lights.

When Lee ignored the lights, the report said, the officer turned on his siren, to no avail. Churchfield then parked and ordered Lee to sit on the side of the road to await HCPD to confirm Lee’s identity.

Lee allegedly threw the pizza to the ground, then began yelling at the officer before walking away. As Churchfield approached Lee, the report said, Lee began swinging and attempting to hit the officer with his backpack. Lee then drew his baton to defend himself as Ptl. T. Wilson arrived.

The second officer drew his Taser, but Lee continued to resist. The officers then holstered the Taser and baton, and attempted to detain Lee. The three men struggled “for five minutes,” according to the report, before Lee slipped away and began running. Wilson then deployed his Taser and stopped Lee.

Tabor Cty Rescue removed the Taser prongs from Lee, and he was placed under a $1,000 bond awaiting transfer to HCPD. Neither officer was seriously injured. Wilson’s tie clasp was broken, the report noted.
