William Mitchell “Mickey” Griffin, Sr. age 83 of Boardman Community in Evergreen, went to meet his maker, Jesus Christ, on Friday, October 15, 2021, at UNC REX Hospital in Raleigh.
William was born on May 13, 1938, in Robeson County, to the late William David and Helen Katherine Inman Griffin. He honorably served his country in the United States Army.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, October 18, 2021, at Worthington Funeral Home, with interment to follow in the Boardman Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery; Rev. Curtis Shirley will officiate the services.
Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00, Sunday evening, at the funeral home.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Rose Branch Griffin of the home; his son, William Mitchell “Mitch” Griffin, Jr. and wife, Sherri, of Cerro Gordo; granddaughter, Stacey G. Thompson (Barett); three great-grandchildren, Gracelyn Thompson, Brooke Thompson, and Ian Walker Thompson.
