Woman hit in Friday shooting

One woman was shot at the Whiteville San Jose restaurant Friday night, according to Whiteville Police.

in a press release, WPD said the woman was transported to New Hanover Regional Health Center with non life threatening injuries.

The shooting occurred in the parking lot of the restaurant on South Madison Street. Witnesses said they heard multiple gun shots.

WPD is investigating.

It was the third shooting in less than two weeks in the city. A teenager was grazed by a bullet Oct. 20. One man died in a shootout at Sandy Ridge apartments Oct. 25.
Three men were struck by gunfire in Tabor City Oct. 23, and another teen was hit on Clyde Norris Road the same day. Tabor City Police and the sheriff’s office are investigating those cases.
