Arnold “Joe” Britt, 84, of Elizabethtown went to his eternal home on Sunday, November 14, 2021 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilton and Grace Cain Britt, son, Edward Britt, sister Hilda Bullard and brother Wesley Britt.

Joe leaves behind his adoring wife of 36 years, Bonnie Rising Britt of the home, mother of his children, Erlinda Vale; sons: Ron Britt of New York, Byron Britt (Tiny) of Fayetteville, and Bobby Britt (Debbie) of Elizabethtown, daughter Tolmy Butler of Dublin, brother Leverne Britt (Joann) of Spring Lake, six grandchildren: Jeremiah Britt (Autumn), Zackery Butler, Chloe Butler Shirk (Spencer), Gabriel White, Tyler Britt, and Noah Britt and five great grandchildren, Aydan Butler, Lily Haines, Adaira Shirk, Lincoln Shirk, and Addi Shirk.

Joe was a hardworking, loving family man. He retired from the US Air Force and was accepted into the NC Softball Association Hall of Fame. Joe and his wife made their home here in Bladen County. He worked as the County Maintenance Manager and FFA Camp Manager. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and tending his gardens. Joe worked hard for his family and his community and will be missed a great deal by all.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2pm on Friday, November 19, 2021 at Bladen-Gaskins Funeral Home in Elizabethtown to honor Joe’s life.
