An inmate in the county detention center is facing additional charges after allegedly stabbing another prisoner Tuesday.

Nigel Bracey, 32, struck Roderick Barr multiple times about the upper left arm with unknown object, according to the sheriff’s office.  Barr was transported to the hospital for his injuries.  Bracey was charged with assault.

Bracey is facing a murder charge for the 2020 death of Joshua Blake Tedder of Hallsboro. Tedder was found by deputies and Hallsboro firefighters responding to a single-car crash on Hallsboro Road South on April 7, 2020. Tedder had been shot multiple times.
As part of the investigation, the county Criminal Investigative Division executed a search warrant on Bracey’s home on Honey Hill Drive, and arrested him for murder. Bracey was held under no bond.
