June 11, 1944 ~ November 4, 2021 (age 77)
Robert Gene Holden, age 77, of Bolton, passed away Thursday, November 4, 2021, at Columbus Regional Healthcare. Robert was born to the late Richard Sidney Holden and Lucinda Evans Holden on June 11, 1944.
Robert served his country in the Army. He received an Associate Degree from Cape Fear Community College. He worked as a Bio Medical Technician at New Hanover Regional Medical Center for 27 years and then with Davita for 15 years. He loved to serve his Lord and Savior at Livingston Baptist Church where he was a deacon for many years and taught a Sunday School Class. He also worked along side the Baptist Men of North Carolina with recovery efforts during hurricanes Matthew and Florence. His love was to try and help people as much as he could. He loved his family, his children and grandchildren and they loved him as well.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife Annette Lennon Holden, two daughters; Alicia H. Hemminger (Lamont) of Tarboro, and Stephanie H. Hemminger (Richard) of Mt. Pleasant, SC, a son; Samuel Wesley Holden of Bolton, a sister; Shelba H. Caison of Holden Beach, two brothers; Richard Sidney Holden, II and Roy Holden (Nancy) both of Supply, five grandchildren; Grayson Reaves, Kenneth Stephen “Alex” Hemminger, Keagan Hemminger, Krista Hemminger and Madeline Hemminger, and one great grandson; Sullivan Reaves.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, November 7, 2021, at Livingston Baptist Church at 2:30 pm with the Rev. Matthew Griffin, Rev. Richard Wade and Rev. Lamont Hemminger officiating.
Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:30 – 2:15 pm prior to the service.
