Elder Marcus E. Smith 63, of Brunswick, answered the call of Jesus Christ and transitioned into glory on Monday, December 13, 2021 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center, Wilmington.
He was the son of Mrs. Louise Lewis Smith and the late Mr. Norman Smith of Columbus County, NC.
A Celebration of Life Service for Elder Smith will be conducted on Wednesday December 22, 2021 at 1:00pm from Friendship Missionary Baptist Church where Pastor Algernon McKenzie is the Pastor. Bishop Cathy S. Moore will deliver the eulogy. Burial will be in The Cherry Grove Cemetery with Masonic Rites.
A walk through viewing will be held on Tuesday December 21, 2021, from 3 to 5pm at Smith Funeral Home Chapel, and again following the service on Wednesday.
He is survived by his wife: Mrs. Hilda Toon Smith, his mother: Mrs. Louise Lewis Smith of Whiteville, his children: Demetria (Dee Dee) Toon Rivers of Wilmington, Glenn Lewis of Fayetteville, David Finelly of Texas, Marquis Smith of Whiteville, Marquasia Smith of Georgia, Marnasia Smith and Martasia Smith both of Whiteville, 5 grandchildren, one brother: K’tro Storm of Hamden, CT, two sisters: Joanne Jackson of Hamden, CT, Marcie Baldwin of Whiteville, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends.
