Five people were arrested Dec. 28 after detectives raided a home on Shade Fisher Road and discovered a large quantity of illegal drugs.

The sheriff’s office reported that the Vice-Narcotics Unit was investigating citizen complaints about suspicious activity around 2122 Shade Fisher road, Chadbourn.
“Within minutes,” the sheriff’s office said in a press release, “detectives conducted two traffic stops resulting in narcotics seizures.”

Detectives obtained a search warrant, the release said, and raided the home at 11 p.m. Methamphetamine, marijuana and pills were seized. Detectives arrested Anthony Soles, Billie Nobles, Melissa Johnson, Johnie Hall, and Nicholas Lanier as a result of the investigation.

Soles and Nobles were charged with possession with intent to sell or deliver methamphetamine, marijuana and opiates, maintaining a dwelling for drug activities, and possession of paraphernalia. Each was placed under $20,000 secured bond.

Melissa Johnson of Chadbourn was charged with possession of methamphetamine and paraphernalia, and held under $3,500 secured bond. Johnie Hall, also of Chadbourn, was charged with possession of methamphetamine, and released on a $5,000 secured bond.

Nichole Lanier, also with a Chadbourn address, was charged with resisting an officer, and held under $750 bond.
