Linrod Patterson, 76, of Whiteville heard the call from Heaven on Saturday, January 8, 2022. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jerome Patterson and Annie Adams Patterson, daughter Monique Lewis, two sisters, Levenia Thorpe and Nadine Rouse and one brother William Thorpe. Linrod is survived by his loving wife, Cecelia Patterson of the home, son, Renaldo Lewis (Mercia) of Lake Waccamaw, daughter, Emily Currie of the home, one sister, Geraldine Patterson Rouse (Marshall) of Whiteville, one brother Jerome Patterson (Donna) of Rochester, NY, and eight grandchildren: Nora Currie, Khadijah Currie and Africa Currie Jr. all of the home, and Adriana McKenzie Lewis, Mariah McKenzie Lewis, Avery McKenzie Lewis, Dominic McKenzie Lewis, and Myles McKenzie Lewis, all of Lake Waccamaw.
Linrod was a hardworking man who loved his family dearly. He was employed with Southeastern Community College for 19 years. His dedication and compassion will not soon be forgotten.
A Walk-through Visitation will be held on Friday, January 14, 2022 from 3-5 pm at Bladen Gaskins Funeral Home in Elizabethtown. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, January 15, 2022 at 1:00 pm in the Patterson Family Cemetery at 1893 Jenkins Rd in Whiteville.
All attendees are asked to wear masks to the service. Due to the recent COVID epidemic, the family will not be receiving visitors or food at the home however flowers and condolences will be appreciated at the service.
