Mrs. Betty Jean Williamson Strickland, age 78 of Cerro Gordo, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, January 29, 2022, at Columbus Regional Healthcare System in Whiteville.
Final rites will be held at 3:00 pm Thursday, February 3, 2022, at the Worthington Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Archie Paul Bullard and Reverend Neill Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the Strickland Cemetery in Cerro Gordo.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Wednesday at Worthington Funeral Home.
She was the daughter of the late Alton Lois Williamson and Mary Norma Williamson and the widow of Phillip Gene Strickland. She was also preceded in death by three siblings, Charles Kenneth Williamson, Buddy Williamson, and Mary Williamson Strickland.
Leaving to cherish her memory, she leaves her daughter, Norma Jean Strickland-Delacruz (Cecilio) of Cerro Gordo; her son, Phillip Shannon Strickland (Jennifer) of Cerro Gordo; siblings, Kay Ludlum (David) of Bladenboro and Gettie Carol Brisson of Wallace; two grandchildren, Quentin Strickland (Lindsey) and Lindsey Strickland; and a great-granddaughter, Marissa Rose.
