In Whiteville, South Columbus downed the Wolfpack 3-0 in volleyball. The Stallions won by set scores of 25-10, 25-14, and 25-15.
Morgan Boyd and Bristol Parker each had eight kills in the victory while teammate Bella Smith provide 12 assists and six aces. South Columbus is now 4-1 in the Southeastern Conference and 14-2 on the season. They will travel to Red Springs (1-4, 1-11) on Tuesday, when Whiteville (0-5, 0-14) will face West Bladen (3-2, 7-6).
In Elizabethtown, the Eagles swept Hobbton 3-0. East Bladen won by scores of 25-20, 25-9, and 25-15. Bella Beard had 10 kills in the win. The Eagles are now 6-1 in the Carolina Conference and 11-5 on the year. They will face North Duplin (7-1, 10-4) in Calypso on Thursday (September 24) in a battle for first place. Hobbton (2-6, 5-8) will host North Duplin on Tuesday.
On Tuesday, West Columbus won a three-game sweep of Lakewood. The Vikings (4-4, 4-8) will host East Columbus (4-3, 7-4) on Sept. 24. Lakewood (3-5, 5-10) will entertain Union (1-7, 2-13) on Thursday.
In Dublin, South Brunswick handed West Bladen its third loss in a row on Tuesday 3-0. The Cougars won by set scores of 25-17, 25-15, and 25-19. Greer Pope led the Knights with 19 assists in the defeat. West Bladen (3-2, 7-6) will travel to Whiteville (0-5, 0-14) on Thursday. South Brunswick, now 5-0 in the Southeastern Conference and 11-5 overall, will host Red Springs (1-4, 1-11) on Sept. 24.
