Clifton Daniel McCoy, better known as Clip, age 42 of Memphis, TN and formally of Fair Bluff, NC, was born on October 2, 1979, in Whiteville, NC, to Ralph and Melinda McCoy; He suddenly departed this life on February 3, 2022.
Clip attended West Columbus High School. He left his home at an early age and started his life in Memphis, TN. He attended Abundant Grace Fellowship Church in Memphis, TN. Clip worked for Tunica Fire Department, as a fulltime fire fighter and EMT in Tunica; he also worked for Father & Son Towing, INC. in Memphis. He often stated, “this is my calling, this is my life.”
Mr. McCoy was a loving son, father, brother, and a jokester. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Marie B. McCoy, Willie J. Goodman, and Oleatha Goodman.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February, 12, 2022 at Butler Branch Missionary Baptist Church, 246 Carver Circle, Fair Bluff, NC with Dr. Ronald Alford officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
Clifton leaves to cherish his memory, his loving parents, Ralph and Melinda McCoy of Fair Bluff, NC; his children, Kayshawn McCoy of Charleston, SC, C’yona McCoy, Clifton Jr. McCoy, Clinton McCoy, Kayla McCoy, London McCoy, all of Memphis, TN; four brothers, Christopher J. Faison (Clarice) of Fair Bluff, Ralph V. McCoy (Mittie) of Wadesboro, Fred Nelson of Columbia, and his day-one, twin brother, Clayton Daniel McCoy of Fair Bluff; his only sister, which he adored, Marsha S. McKeever (Anthony) of Charlotte; two nieces, six nephews, and one great-niece; six uncles, Ricky, Jeff, Robert, Willie, Jr., Marvin, and Albert; six aunts, Cornelia, Regina, Vivian, Inez, Michelle, Denise; two great-aunts, Mary Goodman, Bessie Smith, and a host of cousins, and other relatives and friends; special friend, Lakisha Douglas of Memphis, TN.
