Tabor City Police have arrested a Florence man for altering, then using a fleet fuel card, running up thousands of dollars in diesel bills.

Jasper Jerrell Epps, 24, was charged with 33 counts of obtaining property by false pretenses on a warrant drawn by Tabor City Police. He was held under $66,000 secured bond.

Epps allegedly used the card on multiple occasions to purchase fuel from Yam City Oil. Most of the time, warrants show he used the same card several times a day to avoid going over the preset spending limit. The majority of the purchases ranged from $90 to $100, according to the warrants.

Epps gave his address as Wannamaker Avenue in Florence.
