03/02/22 Daily Sports Wrap Up

MLB:  The deadline came and went for the possibility of getting the regular season started on time and finishing with all 162 games played. The minimum player salary and luxury tax seem to be the two things bringing the discussions to a snail’s pace. As it stands, Commissioner Manfred has already canceled the first two series of the regular season and the next step is the entire first month. The owners are hoping that the players will be more eager to get a deal done now that it will be affecting their 2022 income. Both sides are meeting today, and an agreement could be made but the players’ union is far from agreeing on a few things that need to be fixed. It has now come to a point where it is also affecting the everyday workers that relied on this season to support their families and pay their bills. After the pandemic and craziness in the world, we need to keep people working that want and need to work. The owners are being more than selfish, if there is even such a word, oh yes greedy!
