4/04/22 Daily Sports Wrap Up 

NCAA Womens NCAA Tournament:  South Carolina beat Connecticut 64-59 in the NCAA Women’s Tournament Championship. This is the Gamecocks second Championship. They won their first in 2017. Aliyah Boston had 34 rebounds throughout the tournament and got the tournament MOP (Most Outstanding Player) award. Boston scored 11 points and grabbed 16 rebounds, Destanni Henderson finished with 26 points in the Gamecock win. 

NCAA Championship: North Carolina versus Kansas tonight in New Orleans, Louisiana. Tip-off is 9:20pm on TBS. 

PGA:  Tiger Woods says it is a game time situation for the Masters this week in Augusta, Georgia. It has been 14 months since his motor vehicle accident that severely injured his leg. 

NHL Last Night: Red Wings defeat the Senators 5-2 

Panthers beat Sabres 5-3 

Islanders takes care of the Devils 4-3 

Coyotes beat the Blackhawks 3-2 in overtime 

Rangers defeat the Flyers 4-3 in a shootout 

Wild take care of the Capitals 5-1 

Golden Knights nip the Canucks 3-2 in overtime 

Oilers dispose of the Ducks 6-1 

Kraken pulling down the Stars 4-1

NBA Last Night: Mavericks beat the Bucks 118-112 

Wizards fell hard to the Celtics 144-102 

The Lakers lost to the Nuggets 129-118. LeBron James did not Play. Anthony Davis finished with 28 points and Russell Westbrook had 27 points for the Lakers. Nikola Jokic ended the game with 38 points and 18 rebounds for Denver. This is the Lakers sixth straight loss. 

Pistons defeat the Pacers 121-117 

76ers beat the Cavaliers 112-108 

Magic falls to the Knicks 118-88 

Heat and Raptors 114-109 

Suns lost to the Thunder 117-96 

Timberwolves defeated the Rockets 139-132

NASCAR Cup Series: #11 Denny Hamlin in his FedEx Express Toyota made a late comeback (four laps left) and took the checkered flag in the Toyota Owners 400 at the Richmond Raceway. The #4 Ford of Kevin Harvick came in second and #24 Chevrolet driven by William Byron finished in third. The race time was 3 Hours 4 minutes and 43 seconds. The average speed of the race was 97.447 mph. Next up is the Blue-Emo Maximum Pain Relief 400 at the Martinsville Speedway. The race is on Saturday April 9, at 7:30pm. 

NASCAR Camping World Truck Series: Thursday April 7, flag drops 8pm at the Martinsville Speedway. FS1 and MRN will have your coverage. 

NASCAR Xfinity Series: Martinsville Speedway Friday April 8, 7:30pm
