Deacon Persell Hawkins 68, of Tabor City, NC answered the call of his Lord and Savior on Monday, May 2, 2022 . He was the husband of Minister Leola Riggins Hawkins, and the son of the late Mr. Henry Hawkins and Mrs. Sallie Smith Hawkins of Whiteville, NC.
Deacon Hawkins was a veteran of The United States Army.
A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted on Saturday, May 7, 2022, at 12 Noon from Iron Hill Apostolic Church of Christ located at 1816 Will Inman Road, Tabor City, NC with Pastor Bishop Willie Powers eulogizing. Burial will be in Cherry Grove Cemetery, Whiteville, NC.
A viewing will be held on Friday May 6, 2022, from 4 to 7pm at Smith Funeral Home Chapel; and again on Saturday one hour prior to services at the church.
Deacon Hawkins is survived by his wife; Minister Leola Riggins Hawkins, two sons: James Riggins (Della) and Terry Riggins (Rachel) all of Tabor City, NC, one brother: Marsell Hawkins (Tina) of Whiteville, NC, two sisters: Sylvia H. Hines (Earl) of Bladenboro, NC, and Susie H. Womack (Bruce) of Brunswick, NC, sisters-in-law: Bertha Smith of Brunswick, NC and Ollie Mish Hawkins of Whiteville, NC, brother-in-law: Gregory Everett of Whiteville, NC, and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews,cousins, family, and friends.
A facial covering is requested at the viewing and funeral services.
