Dula “Bug” Smith 86, of Nakina passed on Thursday, July 21, 2022 in Lower Cape Fear Lifecare Angel House, Whiteville. She was born November 21, 1935 in Brunswick County, the daughter of the late Weldon Evans and Thelma Long Evans. She was preceded in death by her husbands, the late Burris Stocks and the late Emory Smith.
Mrs. Smith was a member and Sunday School teacher at Palmyra Baptist Church. She had a love for sewing and quilting.
She is survived by two sons, Barry Stocks of Old Dock, Randy Stocks (Amy) of Nakina; two daughters, Malette Godwin (Huey) of Beaverdam, Kristy Stocks of Wilmington; a brother, Rifton Evans (Louise) of Ash, a sister, Linda Stocks of Old Dock; grandchildren, Frank, Michelle, Amanda, Thomas, Louis, Nathan and Nolan; several great grandchildren and a great great grandson.
Her funeral service will be at 11:00 am Saturday, July 23, 2022 graveside at the Formyduval Cemetery with Rev. John Roberts, Rev. Wayne Faulk and Rev. Jeff Stocks officiating.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Lower Cape Fear Lifecare Angel House, 206 Warrior Trail, Whiteville, NC 28472.
