Shirley Foley Evans 86, of Whiteville passed on Thursday, July 14, 2022 in Columbus Regional Healthcare. She was born November 4, 1935 in Horry Co. SC, the daughter of the late Lewis Brady Foley and Nellie Jane Beck Foley. She was formerly married to Charles Evans who preceded her in death. Also preceding are her grandchildren, Natalie Paige Wallace and David Randall Bessent; a brother, Harvey Mack Foley; sisters, Lucille Foley Jones, Irene Foley Boswell, Iva Dean Foley Powell and Thelma Foley Rogers; nephew, Elbert Leon Hilbourn.
Shirley and Charles formerly co-owned and operated Whiteville Carpet & Tile in Whiteville for many years.
She is survived by a daughter, Rhonda Evans Wallace and husband, Johnny of Whiteville; step grandson, Jamie Wallace and wife, Renee of Cape Carteret; step great grandsons, James Wallace and Robert Wallace; nieces, Phyllis Boswell Long, Saundra Powell Creen, Deborah Powell Boswell, Brenda Jones; nephews, Tim Powell, Mike Powell, Pat Powell, Lewis Phillip Boswell and Alan Jones; her beloved dog, Shadow.
A memorial service will be at 2:00 pm Monday, July 18, 2022 in Peacock Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor John Guyton.
Her family will receive friends 1:00 – 2:00 pm Monday prior to her service at Peacock Funeral Home.
