Jonathan Charlie Inman, age 39, of Shallotte, NC, passed away at his residence. Jonathan was born in New Hanover County on June 23, 1983 to Orbie Eugene Inman and the late Eloise Hammond Inman. In addition to his mother, Jonathan is preceded in death by his Maternal Grandparents; Lucille Andrews Hammonds and Charlie Odell Hammonds, and his Paternal Grandparents; Orbie Johnson Inman and Ethel Ilene Milliken Inman.
Jonathan graduated from West Brunswick High School, Shallotte and went on to study at Western Carolina University. He served his country in the United States Navy for 5 years, serving in Afghanistan and received numerous medals of commendation. During his service he worked in the field of Combat Medicine and as a Dental Surgical Technician. Jonathan served at the Great Lakes, Illinois Naval Base, the Marine Corps Base at Camp Pendleton and at the Naval Hospital, Bremerton, Washington.
Left to cherish his memory are his son; Jo Nathan Charles Inman, Port Angeles, Washington, his father and mother; Eugene Inman and Doris Jacobs Inman of Shallotte, NC, a sister; Cynthia Inman Britt (Tony) of Whiteville, NC a brother; Dr. Jeffrey Eugene Inman of Bennington, Vermont, nieces; Sunnie Morales, Summer Nobles, and Morgan Britt and nephews; Austin Britt and Phineas Inman.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, August 31, 2022, at 3:00 pm in the McKenzie Mortuary Chapel with military honors. Rev. Darryll Hester will be officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm – 2:45 pm prior to the service.
