A Lake Waccamaw area man died in a Leland shooting Sunday.

Another local man faces charges connected with the case, but is not charged with the death.

Leland Police said Kwaze Walker, 22, with addresses in Bolton and Lake Waccamaw, was found shot to death in a home in the 9400 block of Night Harbor Drive, Leland.

Devon Antone, 19, was charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill and first degree kidnapping in the case, but Leland Police said Antone was not charged with Walker’s death. Antone also has a Lake Waccamaw address on Brunswick Detention reports. He was held under a secured bond.

Walker was found inside the home when first responders arrived around  3:49 a.m., LPD said in a press release. Efforts to revive him were unsuccessful.

Services for Walker will be held Saturday at East Columbus High School (see obituary).

The case is under investigation.
