A Celebration of Life Graveside service will be conducted on Saturday, September 17, 2022, at 11:00 from Cherry Grove Cemetery  400 Vinson Blvd, Whiteville, NC.

Growing up he was given the nickname “Red”. In his adult life, most family and friends called him Mack. Mr. Johnson attended Central High where he was a star basketball player for the Central High Hornets. Shortly after graduating, he enlisted in the United States Navy where he traveled the world until he was honorably discharged.

He married the former Ms. Dorothy L. Thomas on June 2, 1963, and they made Bronx, NY their permanent home, (Celebrating their 59th wedding anniversary this year). In his spare time, you could catch him at the driving range playing golf or cheering on Tiger Woods. Although he spent most of his life residing in the Bronx, he did not favor the New York Yankees, he was a die-hard New York Mets fan.
