Willa Dean Cartrette Edwards, age 80 of the Beaverdam Community in Chadbourn, went to be with her Lord on Sunday, October 9, 2022, at her home.
Willa Dean was born on November 7, 1941, to the late Jesse James Cartrette and Bessie Pinyan Cartrette. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Vernon Cartrette.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 12, 2022, in the Beaverdam Original Free Will Baptist Church, with Pastor Buddy Seay & Pastor Tony Ward officiating; interment will follow in the Mercer Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2:00-2:45, prior to the service, at the church on Wednesday.
Willa Dean loved the Lord, and she loved her family dearly.
Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Kenneth “Ken” Edwards; children: Rhonda Ward and her husband, Pastor Tony Ward, Tina McPherson and her husband, Mark, and Steve Edwards, all of Chadbourn; siblings, Don Cartrette (Judy) of Chadbourn, Elizabeth Branson of Chadbourn, Bonnie Williams of Whiteville, Bernice Griffin of Chadbourn; grandchildren, Thomas “Trey” Ward, III (Brianna), Haleigh Brooke Ward (Stephen Hill), Tyler McPherson, Hagan Suggs (Ray), Roth Edwards; great-grandchildren, Bella Suggs and Emersyn Rae Ward.
