The sheriff’s office and Whiteville Police are investigating two unexplained deaths.
A body was found at 6:32 a.m. in the 800 block of Cemetery Road in Riegelwood, the sheriff’s office reported. No additional information was immediately available, due to the ongoing investigation.
In an unrelated case, Whiteville Police are investigating the death of a man found in a home at Memory Trailer Park off Smyrna Drive. The man was found in a camper there July 16.
Neighbors said the man’s dog was found in the home, but the animal later died from dehydration.
That death is also under still investigation. An autopsy has been performed to determine a cause of death.
