Columbus Regional Healthcare System announced Monday that Megan Sargent is the new Chief Nursing Officer for the hospital.
In a press release, CRHS said Sargent was born and raised in a small town in Northern Vermont, which helped her develop a deep passion for serving rural populations.
“She understands the unique challenges that these communities face both professionally and personally,” the release said.
Sargent has spent the last 10 years in healthcare leadership, and completed her MSN at Queen’s University of Charlotte. “Her focus as a leader is to pour time and energy into relationships which allows trust to build and great things to be accomplished.
“She is overwhelmingly optimistic and believes that every challenge is an opportunity,” the release said. “She is grateful that she has the opportunity to join the team at Columbus Regional and looks forward to diving in and learning all about the organization.”
Sargent and her family enjoy looking forward to exploring all the outdoor activities, especially ones near the coast. In her free time she enjoys playing the piano, watching her kids do the things that they love, and playing golf.
