Woman Hospitalized After Power Disconnected

An elderly woman is recovering after twice being treated for heat exhaustion when her electricity was turned off for non-payment

The sheriff’s office reported that deputies were contacted when the woman was taken to the hospital for treatment a second time on June 28. The report did not note when the woman was first hospitalized. The investigation showed she had given her caretaker money to pay the power bill, but the bill was never paid.

The incident is under investigation.
