Multiple Dogs Surrendered from Nakina Home

Multiple dogs were surrendered to Animal Protective Services (APS) Tuesday after being found without food or water.

The sheriff’s office and APS were called to a home in the 2100 block of Manley Smith Road Nakina around 5 p.m., according to as report. At the home, a number of malnourished  dogs were found without food or water. No one was home at the time.

While APS workers began. Loading the dogs, the report said, the alleged owner arrived at the home. The owner, who was only identified as a 41-year-old male, agreed to surrender the dogs to APS. The dogs are now in the custody of APS.

No charges have been filed and the investigation is continuing.
