Duane Manning has been captured in Georgia after almost a week on the run.

Manning, 56, was on parole for a 1995 murder in South Carolina when he struck a Columbus County Investigator with his vehicle. Manning was convicted of that assault in Superior Court in August.

The conviction led to the revocation of his parole, and while Manning was being transferred at the Columbus Detention Center last Thursday, Sept. 8, he escaped from the custody of probation and parole officers.

The case took a turn Monday when his brother Gary was arrested for aiding and abetting a fugitive. Gary Manning is being held under a $5,000 secured bond.

U.S. Marshals began pursuing Duane Manning over the weekend, and found him in Garden City, Ga. Today.
